The Assignment:

 

After reading "Things Fall Apart" by Chinua Achebe,
your mission is to consider the essence of this novel and
how it relates to who we are and in fact who are you?

Produce at least a 1000 word Blog. Answer at least five out of eight of the questions.
Ensure that you have a representative picture for each post and that you consider
your audience, as well as, reflect upon this novel.

Respond to at least four peer posts thoughtfully, respectfully and in a mature manner.

Are there any settings in this novel which you have found to be beautiful? or disturbing? or memorable? or shocking? Describe these settings and comment on why they were meaningful or abhorrent to you.

Please choose one passage from the novel that is significant to you. Why is this passage meaningful? Please type it into one of your entries and comment on what you think about the passage.

Question 7:


What is the major theme of this novel? Why is this theme important to a teenager living in 2014?
What motif and symbols are evident in this novel and how do they convey theme, as well as, the author's intention?
